A chef, videographer, and photographer have proven that even the most unappetizing array of snacks can be reconstructed into a meal deserving of a place at a Michelin-star restaurant’s menu.
Henry Hargreaves, Chuck George, and Jimmy Pham sought out MRE (meals ready to eat) served in different parts of the world for their respective military men and women. These packaged meals are, more often than not, bland, earning them the nickname of “meals rejected by everyone.” The trio has decided to elevate these meals into elegant plates of Michelin-worthy food “in respect to servicemen and woman across the globe.”

Hargreaves is no stranger to controversial projects. His previous photographic work also consisted of recreating serial killers’ final meals before getting the death penalty – a judgment that struck him as “a really inhumane thing.” In contrast, From MRE to Michelin gives the public a glance at what the bravest people of their country is being served. It also highlights the different types of nutrients that are required for each particular race.
We’re sure Gordon Ramsay would approve.
