Collaboration proves that hand-painted mail gives a more personal touch to getting holiday cards

Wouldn’t it be amazing to go back to the time when everything was made by hand? Handwritten and sealed letters say so much more about a person’s emotion and sentimentality than a text message or an email. Fortunately, we are here to know that all of this old school style isn’t completely lost.

Lucy Halcomb is a Brooklyn-based artist who specializes in hand-painting her crafts. Her latest projects include customized, hand-painted mail in the form of greeting cards. She sent this to her friend, Nimrat Brar, who happens to be an art director. But instead of simply saying thanks and appreciating the cards, Nimrat returned the favor and “realized” some of the mail. She even responded with a hand-painted letter of her own. Below are some of these hand-painted mail from the collaborators – but you can also check out Lucy’s Instagram account for more of her amazing art.
