Collector Peter Brant and Former Supermodel Stephanie Seymour List Florida Mansion for $28 M.

A historic mansion in Palm Beach, Florida, that is currently owned by publishing mogul Peter Brant and his wife and former supermodel Stephanie Seymour is on the market for $28 million, according to a listing with the luxury real estate company Brown Harris Stevens.

Built in 1901, the home, called Buttonwood, is one of the oldest and rarest on the barrier island. It still contains original details such as wood detailing and a wraparound porch. The two-story manse with Queen Anne–style influences has 7,175-square feet total, with five bedrooms and five bathrooms, as well as a guest house with four bedrooms and four bathrooms. It also contains a library, pool, spa, and sunroom on a half-acre property.

Brant and Seymour purchased Buttonwood for $4.1 million in 1999. It initially served as the homestead for the town’s inaugural mayor, Elisha Dimick. To save it from demolition in 1920 and 1925, it was later moved down the block from its original location to where it currently sits, at 245 Dunbar Road.

Perhaps the best views, however, are the interior, which showcases some of the Brant’s famed art collection.

Brant, who previously owned ARTnews and Art in America, began acquiring art in the 1960s. He took over his father’s newsprint business and turned it into one of America’s largest publishers.

Of some 1,000 artworks owned by Brant, many were created by Pop artist Andy Warhol. The pair became friends after Brant purchased many of Warhol’s works and, shortly after the artist’s death in 1987, Brant began publishing Warhol’s Interview magazine, which he still owns and operates.

The Brant Foundation, which oversees the art collection, has spaces in Greenwich, Connecticut, and New York, with the latter one set in the former East Village home and studio artist Walter De Maria in 2014. Next month, the foundation will open a Warhol survey in New York.
