Colorful glassware inspired by empty spaces by Attico

Cristina Celestino, of the Italian studio Attico, has created an amazing collection of colorful glassware referencing water formations like canals, basins and pools. Appropriately named “laguna” (Spanish for lagoon) this set of glassware makes cocktail hour even more fun than it already is!

Finding influence in the colorful variability of coastal scenes, the ‘laguna’ series features transparent tumblers of different colors and contained cavities filled with bright fluid, which sloshes around when the cup is moved. The effect of layering these glasses within each other is a sculptural composition that can be compared to the overlapping color compositions found in paintings. For instance, the glass with yellow liquid placed inside the blue cup makes a green hue.
