Conceptual artist creates hyper-realistic illustrations of Pokémons

Have you ever seen a Charmander, a Squirtle or a Pikachu in real life? The idea, of course, is ridiculous since Pokémons aren’t exactly real. But one artist just amped up the graphics game and is looking to complete a real Pokedex database with surreal-looking images of the Pokémon.

Concept artist Joshua Dunlop started creating his fan art by making realistic digital illustrations of the four starter Pokémons. Now, he is bent in completing the whole database of Pokemon using just Photoshop, Keyshot, and 3D-Coat, the digital modeling program that he often uses for his project. His illustrations are intricate and stunning to the point of making the whole idea of Pokémons possibly real. Some people have even called it scary.
