WWII era photographs are remnants of an era we can all learn from when it comes to style. Recently, artist Jane Long digitally remastered some of the black and white photographs with her own colorful twist.
Long, in her series called “Dancing with Costica”, saw in them great potential for creativity. She says, “Photographic practices at the time meant people rarely smiled in photos but that doesn’t mean they didn’t laugh and love. I wanted to introduce that to the images.” Her colorful transformations are meant to show the people pictured “as real people, more than just an old photograph”.
