In honor of its milestone 40th anniversary, Creativity Explored (CE) will exhibit works by six of its rising stars and veteran artists at the Outsider Art Fair in New York City from March 2 to 5, 2023.
A studio-based art collective partnering with neurodiverse and disabled artists, CE was founded in 1983 in San Francisco by Florence and Elias Katz — an artist and a psychologist duo who believed that art is essential to life. Since 1983, the innovative studio has facilitated the art careers of hundreds of disabled artists — and helped change the art world along the way.

At the Outsider Art Fair, CE presents Tour de Force, an exhibition bridging their humble origins in a Mission District garage with their founders’ vision of an inclusive future where disabled artists are recognized for their authentic contributions to the art world.
Tour de Force highlights six of CE’s innovative artists: Camille Holvoet, Pablo Calderon, and Evelyn Reyes, alongside newcomers Kevin Roach and Ricardo Estella. The studio will also show multimedia sculptures by Bay Area favorite Tranesha Smith-Kilgore, known for her colorful cornucopias of castaway objects. The artists represented have forged their own creative paths at CE’s studios in San Francisco, like unstoppable forces of nature.
Visit Creativity Explored at BOOTH C2 at the Outsider Art Fair from March 2 to 5, 2023, to experience their striking works in person. As an added bonus, CE will celebrate its anniversary by hosting a mini-cake cutting every day at 4pm (ET), with Holvoet’s signature oil pastel drawings as inspiration.
