Cute chalk and charcoal characters occupy the streets of Ann Arbor

Street art can be surprisingly interactive! The residents of Ann Arbor, Michigan, know this because they have their own local street artist, David Zinn, who has been tirelessly decorating the city since 2001. The artist uses chalk and charcoal to create temporary drawings, which put smiles on passers-by.

Zinn’s characters appear in random places like sidewalks, staircases, below street lights, or inside wall cracks. The artist creates astonishing optical illusions, taking advantage of what the street can offer. Follow David Zinn on his website.
