This hilarious collection of photographs depicts people face-down on the ground as if they have just fallen while carrying a whole bunch of their possessions. Sandro Giordano is behind this funny and dark series called “In Extremis (bodies with no regret).”
There are two subtle, but very unsettling things about these photographs. First, is the question of whether or not these clumsy people are still alive. Second, is the one possession, that they are still grasping, that each person decided to save on their way to their pavement fate. Using these images Giordano explores the overwhelming nature of modern life and people’s emotional attachment to their possessions.
