Amber Cowan works with pressed glass to create some incredibly complex floral sculptures. Like wow!
The Philadelphia-based artist and educator received her MFA in 2011 in Glass/Ceramics and since then has been constructing complex yet beautiful floral vessels with multiple components. During the process, a mold is made out of molten glass to help with the mass-production of various elements. The different components are then fused together. At first glance, these floral sculptures look as if they were crafted using ceramic thanks to their translucent appearance.
