Most people think we become desensitized when we watch too many violent movies and TV shows or play too many violent video games, using shocking acts of violence in the news to prove their theory.
But if that’s true then why do I still get super upset when an animal is killed in a show even though I’ve seen those ASPCA commercials a million times? And why do I feel so guilty when a video game requires me to slaughter scores of innocent virtual animals?
