The work of Spanish artist and graphic designer Irma Gruenholz appears like meticulous illustrations that have been drawn with the aid of a computer or other digital technology. But in reality, Gruenholz’s creative illustrations were carefully hand-crafted using modeling clay. The people, objects and scenes are sculpted and then professionally lit and photographed.
The sculptural quality of the photos adds a whimsical touch to the illustrations and help bridge the gap between two and three-dimensional design as well as the world of reality and the world of make-believe.
