DJI is already winning the game when it comes to drone technology, but the company isn’t stopping there. The firm has just announced a new action camera that will put it into direct competition with GoPro. Compact yet durable, the DJI Osmo Action 4K HDR Camera will allow content creators to get down and dirty while filming. The waterproof, shockproof, and dustproof video camera even functions in subzero temperatures; so whether you’re scuba diving or skiing, it can record the experience in high-quality detail.

“DJI has always pushed the limits of technology, and the content creators who love our products made clear they wanted us to push the limits of their creative potential too. Osmo Action is our cutting-edge answer to what the creative community demands: Exceptional image quality and stabilization in a unique and durable new form factor, with dual color screens and seamless software integration. For all types of creators who push their gear to the limits, Osmo Action sets the new standard,” said DJI President Roger Luo.

The Osmo Action is equipped with front and rear color LCD screens, making it easier than ever to make sure you get the shot you’re after, no matter the angle. It has the capability to take 12-megapixel photos and 4K video up to 60fps at 100Mbps and to ensure that your videos won’t suffer from screen shake, DJI has developed RockSteady. This technology makes use of complex algorithms that provide stable, shake-free video no matter what activity you’re up to. It’s also possible to shoot HDR video to enhance the dynamic range of the footage and capture rich details in any lighting condition.

The small size of the Osmo Action doesn’t mean that it’s not packed with features. Video features like Slow Motion let you film at 8x slow motion while still keeping 1080p resolution and 240fps. Custom exposure settings give the ability to take a 120-second exposure, which means that the Osmo Action is also great for capturing the night sky. If you’re a fan of timelapses, there’s also an easy-to-use Timelapse mode integrated into the camera.

While the DJI Osmo Action is waterproof up to 10 meters (32.8 feet) on its own, by purchasing the waterproof case you can take it on adventures to depths of up to 60 meters (196.8 feet). Adhesive mounts, an extension rod, and a floating handle are also available to ensure that the Osmo Action is always where you need it to be out in the field.

The DJI Osmo Action is now available for $349.
