We might think of Performance Art as something completely different to what’s usually shown in museums. We’re used to museums (like us) collecting and showing objects, but performance is live and ephemeral. It happens and then it’s gone.

But more and more, we’re showing this sort of thing. In this series, we invited art historian Jacky Klein to take a close look at five different ways in which performance is found inside, and sometimes outside, the museum, so that (perhaps) it feels a little more familiar next time you encounter it.
