Glass is becoming the go-to material for sculptor artists around the globe. Scottish artist Graham Muir’s recent work is a testament to its versatility.
Sculpting glass requires techniques that have been perfected over decades with artists being at the forefront of the experimentation and research. Muir’s latest is a series of dynamic glass sculptures that appear to be frozen in time. Delicate shapes are achieved through careful chiseling and fracturing of the glass while it’s still hot. Muir describes the sculptures as “the starting point for a conversation between the artist’s idea and the material.”
