Artists find different ways of expression based on their talents and interests. But there are many things that remain constant for creative people despite having different artistic outlets. For Keone and Mariel Madrid, their art is dance. With innovative movements and street-style steps, these dance routines are catching the eye of dancers and non-dancers alike. The married duo teaches and performs with Urban Dance Camp, an annual workshop event in Germany that lasts for over a month.
In a recent interview, the duo discussed their creative process and the topic of growing into a master of your art-form. Mariel said, “Learning the basics is something that’s very, very important… After you learn how to do that, then you can go break all of the rules.”
