Wires are certainly not reserved for electricians and engineers. They can be used in some very creative ways by artists too as seen here in artist David Oliveira’s work.
The Lisbon-based artist approaches sculpture art in an unconventional way by using wires. By cutting and twisting them, Oliviera is able to achieve expressive forms that can give the appearance of a 2D sketch. The key to truly admire the sculptures is to view them from certain angles, otherwise they look like muddled balls of stringy metal. Oliviera also creates elaborate interior installations that explore the complexity of the human form.
