Environment friendly architecture in London: The Garden Bridge Trust

Thomas Heatherwick has released new concept images of the ‘Garden Bridge Trust’ planned to cross the banks of London’s River Thames.  His design supports a growing trend in ‘green’ city living by uniting functionality, a modern aesthetic, and environmentally conscious architecture.

This 1,200-foot bridge will cost upward of $240-million to construct and the team hopes to break ground in 2015. The Garden Bridge Trust is still under public consultation through the end of the year as they attempt to raise funds for the project. If all goes well you will be able to pick flowers off of this masterpiece as early as 2017.
