Evenings for Educators is now on Wednesdays! Join us this winter for an in-person exploration of Dining with the Sultan: The Fine Art of Feasting, where we will learn about the importance of communal dining in Islamic cultures, from the early Islamic period to the present day. Enjoy a lecture, workshops, and dinner, and connect with teacher colleagues from across Los Angeles County for an evening to remember!
Agenda
4:30–5 pm: Arrive, check in, and explore the galleries
5–5:50 pm: Lecture in BCAM 1 with curator Linda Komaroff
6–6:50 pm: Workshops and tours throughout the LACMA campus
6:50–7:30 pm: Dinner on the Smidt Welcome Plaza
7:30–8 pm: Explore the galleries
We are raffling off docent-led tours of Dining with the Sultan to all ticket holders! Enter the raffle at the event for the chance to win a tour for your students. There are a limited number of tours available.
Parking is available in the Pritzker Parking Garage on 6th St. and tickets will be validated at registration. Dinner and parking is included with admission.
