I have always been a creative person, but my first job set the stage for my life.

“Crossvine” oil on canvas, 4″ x 6″ x 1.5″

I worked in a large department store creating in-store merchandising and window displays. It was a world where most anything could be used to make visual impact. The experience was wonderful and taught me that were no limits in the creative world!

“Nesting Hummingbird Under Leaf” oil on canvas, 9″ x 12″ x .875″

The motivation behind my painting is to communicate emotion from the beauty, color, and texture, or to share the wonder of my surroundings.

“Bouquet of Ranunculus” oil on canvas, 12″ x 12″ x .75″

Much thought is put into each painting. That inspiration is translated on the canvas using a variety of different techniques, brush strokes and color to achieve what I see and feel.

painting of a nesting bowls with berries by Pamela Resnick

“Bowl of Summer Berries” oil on canvas, 8″ x 16″ x .875″

I like to make use of opposites—small strokes next to large, smooth against rough, warm color next to cool color. I typically prime my canvas to create a warm or cool feel, or use beautiful metallic gold and allow some to randomly show on the painting.  My intention is to create depth, dimension and an engaging image.
