Designed by German graphic design and font guru Erik Spiekermann in cooperation with American type designer Christian Schwartz, FF Unit is a versatile font family that comes with 14 weights ranging from Thin to Ultra including true Italics for each weight. Directly after its first publication by foundry FontFont, the family has been honored with the TDC2 award in 2004. FF Unit is well suited for plenty of work including advertising and packaging design, editorial and publishing, branding and logo design, small text sections, signage, public wayfinding systems and any form of screen design. The FF Unit Pro font family is equipped with lots of typographic features for highest professional needs such as elegant ligatures, alternate characters, small capitals, case-sensitive forms, fractions, super and subscript characters. The family also includes an extensive range of figure set options – oldstyle and lining figures, each are available in tabular and proportional widths. In addition to all Latin-based languages, the family also supports Cyrillic and Greek writing systems.
