It’s got a brand-new look and a new site. Forward Festival is about to start.
For 2018 edition, the Austrian studio Zwupp designed the new identity, while the new website is the work of web agency Wild. After Vienna, now it’s time for Munich on the 30th and 31st of May. Than Zurich and Hamburg.
The formula stays the same: the best international and local minds from design, creativity, and communication, who provide insights into their success stories at the conference, the heart of the festivals, at workshops, live art sessions, or at one of the many other side events, all in an exciting atmosphere.
In spring 2018 the Forward Festival will once again fill unique locations in Vienna, Munich, Zurich and Hamburg with creative spirit: The Gartenbaukino in Vienna, the Old Congress Hall in Munich and the NOERD in Zurich.
The topic for 2018 is CONSTRUCT-DECONSTRUCT, which is also reflected in this year’s visual identity. The interplay of Wiener Werkstätte inspired elements and contemporary graphic design indicates the two-sided story of every final product or concept. Every creative process goes through different steps: one creates various prototypes that will never become a mature product. This mechanism of constructing and deconstructing ideas are illustrated in the new festival design and digitally visualized on the website.
Furthermore, many speaker will also give insights into their process of idea-generation and present prototypes that have never been published.
Some of the speakers of the Forward Festival 2018 in Munich are, for example, the Dutch graphic designer Erik Kessel, the multi-disciplinary artist based in Berlin Sarah Illenberger, the project director and senior architect at the American-Norwegian architecture and design bureau Snøhetta Jette Hopp, and the world famous designer Stefan Sagmeister.
