Jiyong Lee is an artist who’s latest works are inspired by the biological process of cell-division.
His latest sculptures are translucent and created from fragmented glass components fused using coldworking processes. While some of the pieces are more organically shaped, such as “White-orange Chromosome Segmentation,” others were made in geometric fashions.

The Korean artist has been leading the glass program at Southern Illinois University since 2005. Check out some of the pieces below and find more on Artsy.
