Inspired by the abrupt rise in popularity of the beard, London photographers Amit and Naroop have started a photo project that seeks to record the culture of British Sikh men. The project focuses on the men’s beards and turbans.
Entitled the ‘SINGH Project,’ the duo photographed a collection of Sikh men from “doctors to boxers, temple volunteers to magicians, and IT professionals to fashion stylists.” The photos show a variety of men with different personal style, but all with the Sikh beard and turban as the common thread. The photos celebrate the Sikh religion, but also the diversity of its practitioners.
