Giants: Humpback whales pose for photos during annual migration

Photographing humpback whales is Jem Cresswell‘s speciality given how marvellous his pieces look.

Cresswell has been at it for the last three years, capturing stunning photos of humpback whales during their annual migration to Vava’u, Tonga. The series called “Giants,” shows off just how photogenic these massive water creatures can be.

Listen beautiful relax classics on our Youtube channel.

The photographer describes the inspiration behind his work saying, “I was initially drawn to the whales’ gentle nature, sheer size and the feeling of insignificance in their presence. Over the past 3 years returning to Tonga, I have sought to capture intimate portraits of these complex and conscious animals, bringing the viewer into the world of these mystical giants.”

Check out some of the photos below and watch the short film. As always, find more of his underwater clicks on Instagram.
