Gigantic sea animals made of beach trash raise awareness of ocean pollution

Educational art project ‘Washed Ashore’ is all about creating incredible sculptures from collected beach trash to raise awareness of the catastrophic ocean pollution issue the world is facing. Among these trash exhibits, created by Oregon-based artist Angela Haseltine Pozzi, are not only casual sea fish, but also giant squid, sea turtles, sea lions and other proud ocean inhabitants who are exposed to our plastic litter the most.

Trash art in the hands of this talented author becomes the important means to educate present and future generations. Who knows, maybe someday in the future some of these ocean species will become extinct and Pozzi’s trash sculptures will evolve into heartbreaking evidence of the loss. This project is one way to remind us about our responsibility for other living beings on this planet.
