On the 10th of July, he celebrated his daughter’s 8th birthday by having a mermaid photoshoot with her. In pink costumes. Splashing their fins in a picturesque river. I mean, if this isn’t parenting goals, I don’t know what is.

Desirae Deal, the photographer who captured the adorable duo, did an awesome job of portraying the wonderful time they had together. Their smiles and laidback body language really show how much fun the dad and daughter had throughout their little swim.
After Desirae shared the pics on her Facebook page, they received a whopping 21K reactions and 132K shares in just a couple of days. Clearly, nobody can resist a man to whom making his daughter happy is the most important thing in the world.

Desirae is a professional photographer in the Lamar, Arkansas, area and is married to her best friend. She has 4 amazing children of her own, so it’s no wonder she executed the photoshoot to a T.
“I began my journey with photography after my first son died at 3 months old. I was sadly left with very few images of him. As a result, I became obsessed with photographing my 3 children. I studied graphic design at Arkansas Tech University and used that knowledge to further my editing skills,” Desirae wrote on her website.
She specializes in creative children portraits and fine art photography. “My style is fun and vibrant, but the real magic is in the memories. I strive to capture more than just an image. My goal is to provide an experience and memory that will last your family a lifetime.”
We’ve had stories about mermaids for centuries and at this point, it’s hard to even imagine another successful attempt at rebooting the classic. However, I’m sure that even Hans Christian Andersen and Disney executives would appreciate this new father-daughter take on the genre.
