As the Grammarly team in Kiev grew, it became obvious that they needed a larger office to accommodate everyone. The digital writing assistant company, with additional offices in San Francisco and New York, operates around the clock every day of the week, requiring a variety of spaces for different needs. Behind the design is balbek bureau who incorporated eco-friendly materials, a vibrant color scheme, and a home-like vibe for an energetic yet comfortable office for all. Plus, they designed three places for NAPPING which we’re solidly behind.

They added texture and cozy feelings with salvaged oak throughout as a nod to the outdoors to remind the employees of a work/life balance.
Grammarly had a list of requirements when it came to using the space that included: a 150-seat conference hall, multiple small meeting rooms fully equipped with AV technology, reception zone, soundproof recreation room, cafeteria, lounge zones, facilities, and nap rooms.
The office is interspersed with 21 lounge zones where employees can relax, play musical instruments, watch videos, or take a nap.
There’s even a campfire spot for informal meetings or office chats.

Plants are spotted throughout and even built into the large work tables.
A suspended bridge gently curves over the office with vignettes of lounge zones breaking it up.
And last, but not least, something every business should have: a nap room! I’m sure there are all kinds of studies saying productivity would go up if people were allowed to take short naps during the day. Whenever someone is in one of the pods, a sensor sends a signal to the zzz’s on the wall to light up saying it’s occupied.
