It’s hard for some to think of their homeland as a machine, but that’s what a country is and it’s one of the largest out there; its gears and cogs are made of people just like you and I. Architect and artist Federico Babina believes that the buildings of these giant mechanisms produce our culture. His new collection of illustrations entitled ‘Archimachine’ mirrors that sentiment.
Babina is the artist behind other famous exhibits like ‘Archiset’ and ‘Archist,’ and his latest creation is a metaphor that shows how architecture in our countries begins to breed our culture. Babina explains, “We make our buildings and afterwards they make us.” A total of 17 illustrations were produced for the collection, all of which were inspired by the architecture of each country.
