Yuichi Ikehata creates photographs of strange limbs, faces, and landscapes in a deteriorating world. The bodies in her work appear to have structures within them that are painfully exposed as the skin deteriorates, fragile enough to be blown away by the wind.
The artist uses a combination of sculpture, photography, and editing to create an illusion of reality. It is difficult to decipher what is real and fake, leaving the viewer in a perplexing state of internal debate.

Ikehata explains her work: “Reality is beautiful, sad, funny and completed, but nothing happens there. Fragments that cut out of reality already show a fictitious world. I collect the fragments, edit, arrange and capture them. It is just a “pure myth.” However, my real world.”
