Halcyon Gallery and Venice collaborate to install eerie art installation depicting future of the world if climate change persists

An evident, solid reminder that climate change is real can now be seen by tourists in the Grand Canal of Venice. Lorenzo Quinn, hailing from the team of Halcyon Gallery, created an interesting installation that hopes to reach out to people about the rapid rise of ocean levels.

Aptly called “Support,” the installation is a collaboration between the London-based gallery and the city of Venice, and shows a huge pair of hands sprawling across the walls of the historic Ca’ Sagredo Hotel as if asking for help from being drowned. It was presented last May 13 just as the 57th International Art Exhibition of the Venice Biennale opened.

Halcyon Gallery explains that “Support” reflects “on the two sides of human nature, the creative and the destructive, as well as the capacity for humans to act and make an impact on history and the environment.” It will be on display until November 26.
