Russian artist Yuri Shwedoff’s fixation on post-apocalyptic dreamscapes results in devastatingly beautiful space-themed paintings. In his version of a future dystopia, the human self is lost against barren, blue-tinged wastelands and vast manmade structures. The 23-year-old artist’s imagery is never overly futuristic, apart from the nuanced sci-fi touches that conjure up a sense of dread and impending doom.
Shwedoff is a Moscow-based artist/photographer/filmmaker who also expands his bleak universe to include zombies and nuclear imagery. In his spare time, Shwedoff designs alternate fan posters for his favorite movies. Make sure to check out more of his immersive paintings at his Behance page.
