The Tech Awards is a signature program of The Tech Museum of Innovation. Presented by Applied Materials, the international program annually honors a global humanitarian and 12 innovators who use technology to benefit humanity. Laureates of The Tech Awards are selected, from among hundreds of applicants worldwide, by judging panels coordinated by the Center for Science, Technology, and Society at Santa Clara University. Since its inception in 2001, The Tech Awards has honored 257 laureates, awarded $3.3M in unrestricted cash prizes, and raised more than $8M for educational programs at The Tech.
