Israeli artist Amit Shimoni paints historically influential figures as modern day hipsters. Younger generations are often accused of being self-centered in nature and his series, cleverly titled ‘Hipstory,’ explores this idea in the context of majorly influential individuals.
“I often find myself thinking about the differences between these great leaders, their beliefs and motivations, and our self-centered generation. This ‘Y’ generation is constantly looking to fashion and style as a way of self-expression while steering away from big ideologies and ideas.”
