Hotel Far&Near Nanhao St. is a minimalist boutique hotel located in Guangzhou, China, designed by kooo architects. Guangzhou’s thriving population and cityscape is matched by diverse greenery with vegetation flourishing year round.

The renovation of the seven-story building sought to integrate the building with the lively dynamic of the neighboring residences and foliage, while maintaining privacy and abundant natural light. As a solution, the architects utilized a frosted channel glass facade that would allow light to enter the space without compromise to privacy. The main lobby is characterized by a series of long galvanized steel strips measuring 120mm each. Light and shadow pass through the steel deck to create a soft diffused radiance that welcomes guests.
