‘Hybrids’ become an embodiment for creative design where shape and color can be arranged in unexpected ways

The following characters are “hybrids” which derived from inspiration found in bird species. Looking at their diversity brought ideas of integration and helped me find new, unique, models for the human figure. I wanted these fictional characters to be a kind of embodiment for creative design where shape and color can be arranged in unexpected ways, while at the same time maintaining a coherent form.

Conceptually these characters speak of art and science, how we shape ourselves and our environment through materials/elements that we discover. They have a very architectural aesthetic, and at the same time they resemble natural biological structures; they play with the idea of life influencing art and vice versa.
