Shoes are one of the most complicated areas of product design because a lot goes into making really good ones, including style, and more importantly, comfort.
Italian shoemaker, Vibram, renowned for their military footwear, hired Japanese designer Masaya Hashimoto to design a new line of shoes aimed at solving the common problem of finding the right fit. The Furoshiki shoes, named after the material used in their construction, wrap around the user’s feet using Vibram’s innovative “wrapping sole”.
