In Martin Beck’s photo series ‘We Can Be Heroes,’ he shows everyday people dressed up like superheroes doing tasks a comic book hero wouldn’t be spotted doing — like working on a car, smoking a cigarette or munching on a donut.
The series was produced after some successful crowdfunding and is on display at the Middle East Film and Comic Con in Dubai in April.

“The subject matter are the folks who feel they didn’t quite make it at superhero school and are, like most of us, living their lives, doing their day-to-day chores, trying to live a happy life while providing for their loved ones,” Beck says on his Facebook page. “Despite our flaws and failures, each of us, in our own way, can be heroes to our family, our friends, our colleagues and we all have the potential to help others.”
