IQ Alarm Clock makes it hard to snooze

Designer Oliver Sha knows how hard mornings can be. It’s a love-hate relationship really — the desire to get up early while simultaneously want to sleeping late.

Sha’s product design for the iQ Alarm Clock makes it harder to oversleep by making you work for the snooze. When it’s time to wake, the alarm will ask you a set of 1 to 3 questions, and it will keep sounding until you answer those questions correctly. Its underlying theory is that a responsive brain is the first step to getting out of a warm and cozy bed.

The product concept takes it one step further to inhibit even the most creative of snoozers. The power button needs to be pressed for 30 seconds to turn the clock off, and the battery is tedious to remove.
