Ironic artwork compares technology to biology

MIT graduate Sam Kronick has developed a sarcastic initiative called “The Consortium For Slower Internet.” In this project, Kronick suggests that the internet must be used at a moderate speed, encouraging users a moment to think about their role in delivering and accepting information online.

As a part of The Consortium For Slower Internet Kronick has created the ‘Cybernetic Meadow Collection’, a series of handmade products that are designed to question the relationship between the consumer and electronics found in the home. The series features products like a WiFi router with a planter and a concrete slab with a 16 GB USB drive.

Listen beautiful relax classics on our Youtube channel.

All of these curious objects are designed to follow Kronick’s principles for slower internet: Duration, Defamiliarization, Autonomy & Divergence.
