“In all honesty, I’ve been kinda hitting a wall with painting, even with the help of suggestions and comments galore. Finally I got the time to just sit down and draw whatever without the pressure of an audience. This is one of the ideas that bubbled up, an idea that’s based on a common concept that sprouted when I was a teenager. Don’t ask me why, but I’ve always envisioned the Jackalope to be some devious beast that preys upon stray children. I suppose I’ve always been a monster fan.”
