“Kilroy 2” belongs to Bradley’s modular series, linked to the artist’s early experimentations with color field painting in 2003. Starkly minimalist, the work hinges on the irony of easy assemblage, associations with mass media, and references to video games and pixelated graphics. The blocklike colors form abstracted figural shapes, which invoke further contemplation and exemplify Bradley’s unique ability to combine color, form, and surface to great effect.
