Nails are astonishingly durable and versatile as a sculptural medium. John Bisbee’s latest pieces are made up of hundreds of nails carefully hammered and contorted into complex patterns.
Featuring nails of varying sizes, from the tiniest to 12-inch spikes, the twisted works are so neatly done that second takes are a must. Currently, Bisbee has two solo exhibitions: “Floresco” at the SCAD Museum of Art and “Only nails, always different” at the PCA&D Gallery.
