Karen Mullarkey, Photography Director of The Tech Awards Gala

On our towering screens at The Tech Awards Gala, we will see the world in hundreds of captivating images on the theme of water, selected exclusively for The Tech Awards by Manhattan-based photography director Karen Mullarky.

Karen Mullarkey began her career in photography at “Life” Magazine in the 1960s. She has been the photography director at “Rolling Stone,” “New York Magazine,” “Newsweek,” and “Sports Illustrated;” produced and directed HDTV documentaries for Japanese television; and been involved in editing and producing more than 75 photography books. Mullarkey served as photographic consultant for the National Cowgirl Museum and Hall of Fame, The National Constitution Center, and the National Monument to honor Disabled Veterans. Her most recent projects include The Human Face of Big Data by Rick Smolan and Jennifer Erwitt and a book project honoring the legendary photojournalist Eddie Adams. This is her fifth year as the photography director for The Tech Awards.
