Nature and art both heal, so let’s connect these two worlds in one practice. We’ll breathe in, enjoy, and observe in detail the natural world surrounding us, study how other artists have dealt with the topic, and use basic elements of art to create meaningful works that speak about our environment. Taught by artist Beatriz Jaramillo.
Monday–Friday: June 13–17
Indoor | Boone Bungalow
Beatriz Jaramillo’s work addresses the landscape as metaphor and modality, highlighting the tensions produced by the artificial separation between nature and culture, and, in the process, inviting the viewer to rethink their fractured relationship with nature. Beatriz studied Fine Arts in her native Colombia and, in Los Angeles, she received an MA in Art Education and an MFA in Studio Art with emphasis in Sculpture/Ceramics.
