The 16th Annual Kinetic Sculpture Race paraded its way through the city of Baltimore kicking off the beginning of May with fancy dress, color and excitement. Held by the American Visionary Art Museum, the 15-mile course snaked its way through mud, sand and water.
The 26 vehicles formed into poodles, dragons, corn pickers, wagons, toothy wales and toy-boxers were all man-powered—created from dissected bikes, gears and other parts. The ‘man-power’ ranged from a single rider to crews of almost 20 people.

The prizes included Best Bribes, and The Golden Dinosaur Award (the first to break-down); among more traditional awards such as Speed and Best Engineered. The 2014 champion was the ‘Tick Toc the Croc’ with the Grand Mediocre (vehicle that finishes dead center), Art, People’s Choice and Marine Posse Favorite awards.
