Learn how these 2D paper ‘blocks’ magically morph into 3D illusions

The popular Japanese design company, Nendo has done it again with a cool design that reinvents a common object. This time, Nendo has designed a set of two-dimensional paper strips that look like 3D wooden blocks, made for the trendy Japanese magazine, Pen.

By overlapping the paper strips or placing the strips next to each other, you can make objects that deceive the eye and brain into thinking that you are looking at actual 3D objects. It’s fun to watch as the shapes morph from two-dimensional to three-dimensional objects as you play with them!
