Their product design team has endeavored to carry over camera-based design elements, from “the domed watch glass reminiscent of a camera lens” to “The patented, ‘red-dot’ push-crown inspired by a camera’s shutter release.”
“Whereas other crowns stop and reset the watch when they are pulled, this crown is pressed like the shutter release of a camera,” says German industrial designer and professor Achim Heine, a longtime Leica collaborator. “It’s an unusual detail that perfectly fits with Leica.”

That aside, the watches certainly look gorgeous in close-up video:
Although the two models appear nearly identical, the L2 features a 12-hour bezel, an additional hour hand for a second time zone and an alligator strap (versus the L1’s calf leather strap).

Prices for the L1 and L2 are approximately $10,000 and $14,000, respectively.
