The Lima Ultra lets you create your own private, secure cloud that you can access from anywhere in the world.
If you want to avoid cloud storage services like OneDrive, Google Drive, Dropbox etc. but still want to be able to documents, movies, and photos while away from your computer, you need to check out Lima. Hook this small device up to your modem, connect an external hard drive, and you’re good to go. Simply drag, drop, and sync your files and view them on your smartphone, tablet, or PC. You can even back-up the photos on your phone directly through the Lima app. It does not, however, allow you select which photos/videos you want to back up separately. Also, there’s no web portal at the moment that you can use without having to install the desktop client. Those small caveats aside, the designers over at Lima have worked to make an otherwise complex system intuitive, fast, and secure.
