Katie Joy Crawford, a Louisiana State University photography student now armed with a Bachelor’s of Fine Arts degree, is using her craft to reveal her ongoing struggle with general anxiety disorder through the use of photographic self portraiture.
Using the color black as a running theme to compliment the mood of her series titled, “My Anxious Heart,” Katie is depicting both her internal and external day to day experience by giving a visual means to the crippling symptoms that many victims of anxiety experience such as shaky hands, insomnia, inability to breathe, and fear.
